Professor ( Dr.) Shiv Sahai Singh Ji ( The Man, The Spirit, The Vision) was born in an educated family at Meerpur Sekhpur, Akbarpur,Dist.Ambedkarnagar (U.P.)in July 5th 1953. His multifaceted personality made him, at the same time, an effective administrator, great patriot, an eminent legal educationist with a vision, a social reformer reluctant but reformist. His erudition in English language is reflected through his lectures, articles and letters. He was honoured as first youngest PH.D. Holder of Law subject at the university of Burdwan (W.B.).Professor Shiv Sahai Singh would play a critical role in reviving legal education in all over the West Bengal and recasting it so as to make it more relevant to the contemporary concern in the country at large and abroad.

With more than 70 research publications to his credit Prof. S.S. Singh has supervised the work of several successful doctoral students and would command great respect through his teachings. Degree)covering areas of Merchant LAW, Human Rights Law, Constitutional law, Administrative law, Child and Law, Criminal Law, Labour Laws, Press including information technology Law (Cyber Laws), Jurisprudence and Judicial processes, Environmental Laws, Socio- Economic justice, Intellectual property rights and Family Laws etc. He had attended different National and International Seminars on various issues of Laws as Australia India Legal Conference (International) at New Delhi- 1996, UGC Sponsored workshop for P.G. Education in Law at Gorakhpur University- 1997, National Seminar on " Five Decades of the Indian Constitution " at Varanasi in 1999, National Seminar on "Human Rights Education Law and society " in NALSAR on 9th & 10th Dec.2002 at Hyderabad, National seminar on" Globalization, Human Rights and Duties Education in J.N. Vyas University Jodhpur on 27th & 29th September , 2003 at Jodhpur , National Seminar Workshop on Legal and Economic Aspects of Emerging IPR Regime and India " on January 10 of 2004 at Allahabad University ( U.P.), shared his views as Chief Guest on 24th November, 2012 at S.S.D.LAW College Shahzahapur (U.P.) in National Seminar on Human Rights Law in India.

Professor ( Dr.) Shiv Sahai Singh as a head, organised National and International Seminars in 1992, 2002and 2005 at Burdwan University , Law Department ( W.B.). Professor Singh ji organized different legal aid camps in rural Bengal with the help of law students, members of the Bench & District Bar Association, Burdwan, to spread Legal Literacy.
